Riders of Icarus - How open world is the game?

How open world is the game?

The game isn't your Black Dessert open-world game. There are several instances. Story quests are usually solo dungeons, those can only be entered as an individual. Same goes for dungeons, those are always instanced.

The maps are divided in different sections, you might experience minor "loading-screens" when changing from one section of the map to another.

Hakain's castle is, as the name might percept, a castle - more so a vast area - but it's's also located on the overall bigger map Hakain's Crossing. You won't experience a loading screen in-between changing from the small portion of the map to the bigger one, but you will 'feel' that you entered another region, usually the sections diverge seamlessly.

When changing areas, maps - you will have a loading screen.

Invisible walls

There are some. Instanced dungeons can't be overflown and can only be entered via a gate / portal. At such key locations your momentum will be stopped by an invisible wall. You will collide with the wall, at the 'hitting-points' a visual response will appear, signalling that you can't enter the region via flying.

Swim | fly over lakes | mountains

You can do both. All the maps have a maximum altitude level. If you reach it, you will be forcefully unmounted. Same goes for your familiars. Those can't swim. When too near to a certain water depth, you will get unmounted as-well.

This game is not a open world like WoW where you can fly all around over the various regions. You can not fly into other zones as there are invincible walls. You can climb the mountains, but you will run into the wall eventually. That being said the areas are of a decent size and get larger as you go. As far as I can tell in my explorations if the water is in the zone you can fly over it, if it is on the border you can only go to the border. I was never a Diablo fan, so I can't say if it is like that. If you've ever played Dragon Age.. it's kinda more like that.. oh or like Star Wars The Old Republic if you've played that. It is a theme park game that leads you on a path with quests (there are quest hubs along a set path through the area,) but as you progress through the story you can explore and wander around in a decent space. I hope that helps answer your question!

which is just more work on your end in the long run, I wouldn't buy any recipe from auction unless I actually knew how you obtain the recipe in the first place. That's just using common sense.

Riders of Icarus Class and Mount?

I found my self immersed on the selection of Mounts according to my class (wizard). The variety of mounts compared to the amount of classes in RoI is immense and this makes the selection really tough!
