Riders of Icarus 2nd Dungeon

Before you begin the fight, target yourself then cast:

Cohesion Veil > Ellora's Marks > Cohesion Veil > Ellora's Marks > Cohesion Veil > Ellora's Marks.

Basically: cast Ellora's Marks on yourself three times. When cast upon yourself or an ally, Ellora's Marks provides +5% Magic Critical Hit Rate, +5% Physical Defense, +5% Movement Speed and +3% Physical & Magical Attack Damage. Those bonuses can stack up to 3 times (i.e. +15% Crit, Defense and Movement; and +9% Damage), and last 10 minutes. Needless to say: YOU ALWAYS WANT TO HAVE THIS BUFF ON YOURSELF!

Now cast Cohesion Veil one more time to activate your Holy Symbol passive skill, which provides another +5% Movement Speed and +5% Physical Defense for each mote (glowing ball of light) you have, up to a maximum of 3. So: if you have three Ellora's Marks on yourself and have three motes summoned -- you've got a massive +30% physical defense bonus.

Now... it time to lay some Holy smack down.

Charge in and cast Righteous Authority and Divine Power on the boss. These will cause damage every few seconds for 30 seconds. You can cast these same skills on yourself (or allies, if you're in a group) to cause healing every few seconds for 30 seconds. I can't remember if Priests have Lightstream yet at your level, but if you do -- cast that on the boss as well, as that is yet another damage-over-time spell.

Now the boss should be losing health at a pretty good rate, and all you need to do is run away from him and attack with your wand, throwing in a few hits with Heaven's Hammer and Holy Punishment as you're able. About every 25 seconds, recast Righteous Authority and Divine Power again (and Lightstream, if you have it) to keep the damage-over-time going.

By the way: the Priest's basic auto-attack with her wand actually does a surprising amount of damage. Especially considering you can auto-attack while running, and it doesn't cost any mana. In a hit-and-run situation, it's not a bad move.

If you get low on health, target yourself and cast a few Ellora's Marks on yourself. Then be sure to cast Heaven's Hammer or Holy Punishment a few times to re-summon your motes. Always try to keep three motes summoned -- as previously mentioned, your Holy Symbol passive skill gives a movement speed and physical defense bonus for each mote you have. Also, you need to have one or more motes in order to cast Ellora's Marks (and Lightstream requires two).

In Story Mode, the fight should not be very difficult -- especially if you follow these tips. If you're having trouble, it probably means you're not upgrading your gear. Make sure you do ALL the side quests along the way, because those give you new gear. Also, you should be tempering each piece of your gear to around +5 to +7 (if you're running low on tempering stones, at least temper your weapon, crest and chest piece). Never sell blue (Elite) gear -- buy Extractors from merchants and break that gear down into tempering stones so that you have a good supply.

Pets don't make a huge difference at this point, but boars, bears and turtles are good low-level choices for their physical defense bonus, or a wolf for its health bonus. You can find boars, bears, turtles and wolves pretty much all over the place. At your level, you don't have to be using an elite pet -- common ones will be just fine for now, unless you happen to have an Elite Pet Scroll. The Elite scrolls can be pretty expensive for a new character -- but you can buy Common Pet Scrolls from most merchants back in the capital city for only a few silver.

How do you get Riders of Icarus gold in this game?

Taming marks in general are pretty big business. Price it out first before buying the materials from the AH though--unless you can reliably crit/triumph craft a particular mark, chances are you're better off farming some or all of the mats yourself.

Some basic things to understand about aggro in this game are

Tanks can get CC'd and interrupted constantly in later dungeons, like Frost Keep, if they are not careful. When a tank stumbles, it's your job as DPS to back off and wait for the tank.
